Babak Solati – P.Eng. M.A.Sc.
Vice President of Sales
Over my 26-year journey in HVAC system design and applications, I've had the privilege to lead teams and contribute to landmark projects globally. From designing critical systems for hospitals and high-rise buildings to fostering strategic alliances across continents, my career has been a testament to dedication, innovation, and excellence in every endeavor.
Babak Solati has more than 26 years’ experience in HVAC system design and applications. The first seven years of his career he held different roles in consulting engineering firms, designing HVAC systems for residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Babak started his career as a Consulting Engineer, and soon as a head of Mechanical Department in Gorouh-e-Chahar, one of the largest consulting engineering firm in Tehran, Iran. He led the design team of several hospitals. He also worked on a Hilton Hotel Refurbishment project where he was the liaison between British engineers, local contractors and HVAC manufacturers, helping
all parties understand the process.
During this time, Babak established his own office where he worked on the mechanical systems for five hospitals, a large-scale office building, a large boat factory, and several apartments and villas. His most outstanding accomplishment was designing the HVAC, plumbing, firefighting and sewage piping for a 14-story office building, while supervising the installation of the systems he designed during construction.
Babak joined Seteam Consulting Engineers, subsidiary of Setec Group in Paris in 1997, as HVAC Senior Design Engineer where he handled the design of air-conditioning and HVAC systems for several different projects. He also coordinated the architectural, structural and electrical groups, as well as other members of the mechanical group. While with this firm he was responsible for Tehran Tower—a 54-story residential building where his work included the design of air-conditioning systems. He also designed HVAC for the Hotel Iran Sarai, a 38-story, 5-star international hotel with 712 bedrooms, suites and presidential suites.
In 1999, Babak moved to Canada to broaden his knowledge by starting a Master’s program in Montreal in Building Engineering with HVAC major followed by taking a professor position with Montreal Technical College, where he taught Technical Drawing and Mechanical Systems (HVAC) in Buildings.
Babak joined Ventrol Custom Air Handling Unit Manufacturers, in 2003, as a Sales Application Engineer helping company representatives, contractors and engineers design custom air handling units for different applications. As a team leader and active member of the sales team, he trained junior engineers and improved the sales and marketing department’s performance and efficiency. He was designated number one in sales four times and always performed within the top three.
In 2016, he was promoted to the Regional Sales Manager role for Nortek Air Solution, Ventrol’s parent company. He focused on business growth and channel development with new and emerging sales representatives. He traveled to eastern Canada and the U.S. to help build relationships with representatives, improve the overall operational effectiveness of the organization, develop awareness at a consultant level and to present Nortek Air Solutions’ products and capabilities.
Babak decided to join XNRGY Climate Systems, in 2020, as the Vice President of Sales. He regularly participates in corporate executive planning sessions on meeting and exceeding customers’ and manufacturers representatives’ expectations. He is also focused on developing and justifying human resources strategies as they relate to sales, as well as developing, documenting, directing, and executing sales strategies. It is his responsibility to ensure all sales efforts align with the company’s overall corporate strategy, marketing plans, financial metrics, and budgets.
